PRACTICAL ADVICE
The PENN Rival™ II is the ideal choice for those just starting boat fishing or looking for a reliable "backup" reel. The left-hand version allows those accustomed to spinning reels to maintain the same motion (holding the rod with the right, reeling with the left). It is excellent for surface trolling for pelagic fish and amberjacks, as well as deep bottom fishing. Due to the HT-100™ system, the reel performs best if rinsed with fresh water after fishing and stored with the drag fully disengaged.
