Since it is sinking, once it touches the water, you can let it sink for a few seconds before starting your retrieve, thus exploring deeper layers. It performs exceptionally well with medium to fast steady retrieve, but the way to unlock large predators is by using Jerking (sharp, strong rod jerks).
