The hooks are connected via a super-reinforced braided line (braid) with a diameter of 1 mm, which exhibits tremendous resistance to abrasions, sharp fish teeth, and prolonged exposure to seawater. The correct placement of the JLC Oki Double Assist Hooks is key to avoiding missed hook-ups. Many large fish (such as amberjacks and dentex) tend to attack the back of the soft bait, biting the tentacles directly. Pass the solid ring of the assist hook through the jig head's slot of the OKI JLC and secure it with a quality, high-strength split ring. Then, guide the two hooks between the tentacles of the soft bait. Rigging Tip: Leave one hook free to hang naturally among the tentacles, while the second can be lightly "pinched" onto the tip of a tentacle to remain stable during descent, thus providing coverage at two different points. Due to the extremely sharp nature of BKK hooks, after every battle with a large fish or after getting snagged on the bottom, always check their points with your fingernail and make sure the 1mm line has not been abraded by a sharp rock. If you find damage, replacing it with a new ready-made JLC blister will save you from losing the fish of a lifetime.
