PRACTICAL TIP
When you finish fishing, instead of securing the end of the line or shock leader to the small plastic line clip on the spool (which often damages or kinks the monofilament due to pressure), simply wrap the loose end around the spool and place the Yuki Rely elastic protector over it. If you are fishing with thin Surfcasting braids (e.g., PE #0.6 or PE #0.8) and use taper shock leaders, this band is the only way to ensure that the thick connection knot will not pop out and create a "bird's nest" in your case.
