The Emeraldas Peak #3 is one of the most technically advanced jigs ever designed by Daiwa. The philosophy behind the Peak series is based on perfect balance, both during casting and in its behavior in the water.
For the Emeraldas Peak, Daiwa meticulously studied the center of gravity, mass distribution, and the shape of each individual part, so that the jig remains stable in the air and offers easy, long, and controlled casts. The new body and redesigned weight create exactly the right aerodynamic resistance, maintaining the lure's balance throughout its flight.
Often, to achieve long casts, a jig becomes heavier — which also increases the sinking speed. With the Peak series, Daiwa made clever micro-adjustments to the weight, so that both the Peak and the Peak RV (with rattle) have the same weight and same behavior, allowing the angler to use them in exactly the same way.
Particular attention has been given to the weight, which is crucial for the darting action. The weight of the Emeraldas Peak:
-
effectively handles currents,
-
maintains lively and aggressive movement,
-
and allows the lure to cast very far without loss of control.
The immediate response to rod commands allows even gentle jerks to create intense movements, with a characteristic left-right darting action, which triggers strikes even in difficult conditions.
Daiwa used premium Japanese materials, ensuring durability over time and against multiple attacks. This is a premium jig, with high-quality fabric, tuned for maximum balance and performance.
The Emeraldas Peak #3 are available:
-
with or without rattle (RV model)
-
in a wide variety of colors, many of which have UV properties
🎨 What role do colors play in squid jigs?
Colors in squid jigs are not decorative – they play a crucial role in the success of eging:
🔹 Visibility & Light
-
In clear waters and strong light, natural colors (fish, brown, shrimp) appear more realistic.
-
In murky waters or low light, bright and phosphorescent colors are more easily perceived.
🔹 UV Colors
UV colors reflect ultraviolet light that squid can perceive, even when the human eye cannot distinguish them. They are extremely effective:
-
in great depths
-
in cloudy conditions
-
at dawn and dusk
🔹 Adapting to Conditions
There is no "one right color". Changing colors:
-
can activate squid that are following but not attacking
-
helps adapt to currents, depth, and lighting
🔹 The Emeraldas Peak #3 is the ideal squid jig for eging anglers who want ultimate control, long casts, intense darting action, and the ability to adapt to any condition simply by changing colors.
