The Daiwa Tournament Red 1200m is an extremely high-quality monofilament line, specially designed to meet the strict demands of Surfcasting and long-distance casting. Its most significant feature is the Tight Symmetrical Winding on the spool, a technology that eliminates twists, "memory," and kinks in the line. This results in the line unspooling with incredible smoothness from the reel during casting, minimizing friction with the rod guides and offering an impressive increase in casting distance.

Daiwa has equipped the Tournament with a special, external Anti-UV Coating. This treatment acts as a protective shield against the sun's ultraviolet radiation and the drying action of salt, two factors that destroy and "burn" common fishing lines. Thus, the Daiwa Tournament maintains its crystalline structure, elasticity, and knot strength, even after prolonged use in extreme summer fishing conditions.
The line's vibrant red color is a valuable tool for the Surfcasting angler. It offers excellent visibility out of the water, allowing you to accurately control the trajectory of your rig during casting, and to immediately see where a large fish is heading during the fight. What's impressive is that the red color is the first to "fade" and become invisible in the water at a depth of a few meters, ensuring that it won't spook large and wary fish.

PRACTICAL ADVICE
To achieve the maximum possible distances in Surfcasting, choose the thinner diameters in the series, such as the 0.20mm or 0.23mm. Due to their extremely fine cross-section, air resistance and friction on the guides are minimized, allowing your rig to "travel" distances that common fishing lines cannot reach. In this case, the use of a high-quality Shock Leader (tapered or constant diameter Fluorocarbon / reinforced monofilament) is essential, as it will absorb all the pressure during the "loading" of the cast with weights over 100g. If you are fishing in rough, rocky seabeds or targeting large fish with Heavy Casting without a shock leader, the 0.33mm and 0.37mm diameters offer the necessary safety and abrasion resistance. The red color is ideal for night fishing, as with the use of a simple headlamp, you can see exactly where your line is, avoiding tangles with other rods on the beach.
