PRACTICAL TIP
The Daiwa Samurai Mini Jig is a true multi-tool in the hands of an LRF angler. The best way to work it is with the "Twitch and Drop" technique or with quick, sharp **"Short Jerks"** low to the bottom. Do not neglect to let the jig fall in a free flow with a slightly taut line, as the Butterfly Fall action it performs during its descent is what triggers the most and most violent strikes, especially from damselfish and horse mackerel in mid-water. If you are targeting rockfish (scorpionfish, perch, seabream), let it hit the bottom and make small hops just above the bottom structure. Thanks to the assist hook with SaqSas technology, the hookset happens almost on its own with the slightest contact. To get 100% of its performance, combine it with a pure LRF rod (Tubular or Solid tip with Max Casting Weight 7g or 10g), a light reel size 1000 to 2000, and a very thin braided line (PE #0.2 to PE #0.4) in combination with an invisible Fluorocarbon leader (0.14mm to 0.18mm).
